The Migration Department requires a policy from an insurer licensed in Cyprus, valid for at least a year, covering inpatient care, emergency care, outpatient treatment and repatriation of remains. Travel insurance is not accepted, and neither is GESY.
What the policy must include
- An insurer licensed by the Republic of Cyprus.
- A term of at least 1 year.
- Cover for: inpatient care, emergency care, outpatient treatment, repatriation of remains.
- The policy terms and proof of payment are attached to the application.

On the market this product is usually called Immigration Plan A. It is offered by Universal Life, CNP Cyprialife, Eurolife, Altius Insurance and Trust Insurance, as well as by insurance brokers. Digital Nomad Visa holders need broader cover — roughly €500–1,500 a year.
