The emergency number is 112, it works without a SIM card and in English. Outside your personal doctor's hours, GESY patients go to A&E: the co-payment is €10, waived if you are admitted.
State hospitals
- Eight state hospitals: Nicosia General, Archbishop Makarios III (children's and maternity, Nicosia), Limassol General, Larnaca General, Famagusta General (in Paralimni), Paphos General, Troodos Hospital and Polis Chrysochous Hospital.
- Athalassa Psychiatric Hospital in Nicosia is open around the clock.
- All of them have A&E departments open 24/7.
Private hospitals within GESY
A&E departments working under GESY also operate at Mediterranean Hospital and Ygia Polyclinic in Limassol and Apollonion Private Hospital in Nicosia. Some services at private clinics — Apollonion, American Medical Center, Aretaeio, Iasis and Evangelismos in Paphos — are covered by GESY, but not all.
