Child benefit is available to foreigners too, but third-country nationals need 5 years of continuous legal residence in Cyprus. Applications are filed in May via CY Login.
Conditions
- Legal residence; for third-country nationals, at least 5 continuous years.
- Family income threshold: up to €49,000 with one child, up to €59,000 with two, plus €5,000 for each additional child.
- Family assets must not exceed €1.2 million.
Amounts
| Children in the family | Per year (on a low income) |
|---|---|
| 1 | €588 |
| 2 | €705 |
| 3 | €1 293 |

Amounts fall as income rises. There is a separate single-parent allowance: around €212 a month per child on an income up to €39,000 and around €189 on an income up to €49,000 — paid on top of the child benefit.
